The Media Earthquake: What Will be Left Standing?

At this U3A talk, Peter Newport discusses the signs we are all seeing of a dramatic upheaval in the media we consume. Not only is journalism experiencing a massive reduction in resources, but the platforms themselves – newspapers, TV, Radio – may not exist in 10 years’ time.

Peter is a journalist and TV producer who has worked all over the world for organisations including the BBC, Discovery Channel and Channels 9 and 10 Australia – as well as TVNZ, TV3 and the Otago Daily Times. He was recently Radio NZ’s news reporter for Otago and Southland based in Queenstown. Now he has his own media company and is working with Southern Media Group which has launched TAPtv.

Admission $5.
